Medicare GLP-1 Coverage, Handled.
Body Good helps Medicare Part D members access GLP-1 medications through prior authorization and ongoing plan management. Physician-led by Dr. Linda Moleon, MD · Double Board-Certified, licensed in 45 states.
Quick answer: Medicare Part D does not cover GLP-1 medications for weight loss alone, but it does cover them for approved medical indications such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction, and obstructive sleep apnea. Body Good's Medicare Bridge Program handles the prior authorization so eligible members can access Wegovy, Zepbound, and Foundayo.
Final coverage is determined by your specific Medicare Part D plan. A licensed Body Good clinician makes all prescribing decisions.

Medicare GLP-1 coverage questions
Does Medicare cover Wegovy?+
Medicare Part D may cover Wegovy for its FDA-approved cardiovascular risk-reduction indication in eligible members, not for weight loss alone. Coverage depends on your specific plan formulary and a successful prior authorization. Body Good's Medicare Bridge Program verifies your benefits and submits the prior authorization on your behalf.
Does Medicare cover Zepbound?+
Medicare Part D may cover Zepbound where there is an approved medical indication such as obstructive sleep apnea. It is not covered for weight loss alone. Coverage is subject to your plan formulary and prior authorization requirements. A Body Good physician determines the appropriate indication based on your clinical history.
Does Medicare cover Ozempic for weight loss?+
Ozempic is covered by Medicare Part D for type 2 diabetes, not for weight loss. A licensed clinician determines the appropriate medication and indication based on your medical history. If Ozempic is clinically appropriate for diabetes management, Body Good can submit the prior authorization to your Part D plan.
How much will I pay with Medicare?+
Once approved through the Bridge Program, the typical pharmacy copay is around 50 dollars per month, plus Body Good's program fee for benefit verification, prior authorization, and ongoing management. Your exact copay depends on your specific Part D plan, formulary tier, and current deductible stage.
How long does prior authorization take?+
Most prior authorizations are decided within a few business days to two weeks after submission, depending on your Medicare Part D plan. Body Good handles the paperwork, submits all required clinical documentation, and follows up with your plan throughout the review process.
What if my prior authorization is denied?+
The Medicare Monthly Program includes appeals support. If your prior authorization is denied, Body Good helps file a formal appeal with the supporting clinical documentation your plan requires. We coordinate with your physician and your Part D plan to give the appeal the strongest possible footing.
